During my rebellious preteen/teenage years I thought I could write all of my problems down in a diary and they would magically be resolved. I still wish that were true, but I know it doesn't work that way.
I know I shouldn't go shopping alone because I always have a meltdown over something, but because every thing has gone wrong today I didn't think it would matter. Rhagan is the easiest person to buy gifts for. Last year he asked Santa for a toothbrush and a loaf of bread. He meant it too. When he didn't get bread on Christmas morning, his heart was crushed. I had a list of things to buy him today. Star Wars Lightsaber, big kid bike, toy shave kit...I was ready. Aralyn on the other hand was a challenge. I walked up and down the aisles for over an hour then fell apart. Every toy flashes, makes way too much sound, or wouldn't be useful to her. Where is the special needs section in Target? What sent me over the edge was a play mat. Silly I know, but it stated that is was for ages 6 months and up. The problem was that the 6 month old baby on the box was sitting up. Sitting! My baby doesn't sit and she is 15 months old. After 30 minutes of sobbing in the baby section I ran for the checkout and swore I would never go shopping alone again. I can't handle it. I really shouldn't complain since some parents can't buy their children anything because their children are already Home, but it's still hard. I guess I could get her baby food, wipes, and diapers. I just don't see the fun in that. I thought I was ready to blog about this, but I was wrong. Today is just not my day.
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. -Isaiah 40:29
Mommy, It's ok to feel this way!!! I feel this way also shopping for my 23 month old but really she's 15 mos old the doctors say...We are going back and fourth from Dallas just trying to figure out what's going on with her....I'm thinking diapers and wipes also....I think the joy of it is that they get to tear open the paper anyways :)
